PLG is no longer an edge. It’s table stakes.

I told you at the start of this book that the 50 fastest-growing companies right now, according to Brex’s latest data, are all product-led. Not most of them. All of them. Lovable went from $0 to $200M ARR in under a year. Cursor hit $1B in ARR in 24 months. There is no world in which they could have scaled this fast with a traditional sales-led motion.

Now you understand why.

What if Google required you to pay a fee before you could search for an answer to your problem? What if Slack required you to talk to sales before you could sign up? None of the companies we welcome into our lives every single day would be as successful as they are if they didn’t make it easy to experience the value of their product first.

That’s what the truly great companies figured out. 97% of buyers prefer to try before they buy. They don’t want to talk to sales. They don’t want to sit through a demo. They want to use the product and decide for themselves.

Whether you’re selling perfume or software, trying out a product is and always will be an essential part of the buying process. Consumers demand it. Companies that embrace PLG align their business model with that reality. The ones that don’t are fighting their own customers just to make a sale.

Blockbuster couldn’t compete with Netflix by selling the same digital content. You, too, need to decide: are you going to be product-led? Or will you risk being disrupted?

What’s Next?

Congratulations on finishing the book.

I appreciate you choosing to spend your valuable time with me. It truly means a lot.

Now that you know what PLG is, whether it’s right for your business, and how to get started — the question is what happens next.

There are two paths from here.

Two paths from here: build it yourself, or work with an implementer

Path 1: Do it yourself.

If you’re an earlier-stage founder, every dollar matters. You can implement PLG yourself, build it into your product from day one, and you’ll be ahead of companies 10 times your size that are still trying to bolt on PLG after the fact.

If you’re a product or growth leader, your team needs someone who understands PLG inside and out. That person should be you. Becoming the PLG expert for your company isn’t a side project. It’s a career-defining skill.

Either way, The Product-Led Playbook is your next read. It’s the same playbook we use with clients every day to build products that sell themselves.

You don’t even need to wait. You can read it free online, one chapter at a time. Consider it a free trial of the book. Dive in, start applying it, and if you want the full system, pick up a copy and support what we do.

We’re also building dedicated books for every level of the Market Ascent, whether you’re on the Cusp and need to design a business that runs without you, or you want to become the obvious choice in your market. The goal is a complete system, no matter where you are on the climb.

Path 2: Work with a ProductLed Implementer.

One founder told me something I’ve never forgotten: "Wes, I don’t want to become the PLG expert. I want the result."

He already had enough on his plate. Staying at the cutting edge of his own industry took all his time and energy. Adding "become a PLG expert" to the list wasn’t realistic.

And honestly, it shouldn’t be. Your job is to stay focused on what you do best, whether that’s building the product, understanding your customers, or growing the brand. That’s your unique ability. PLG implementation isn’t. So instead of splitting your focus, partner with someone whose entire job is implementing PLG for companies like yours. You stay focused on what you do best. They handle the system. That’s what creates results.

If you’re a growth-stage company and you want to move fast, this is the path.

Your first call with a ProductLed Implementer is free. It’s focused entirely on your business — where you are, what’s blocking you, and what to prioritize next. You can book one at ProductLed.com/apply.

Whichever path you choose, the only wrong move is doing nothing. The gap between knowing what PLG is and actually building it is where most companies stall. Don’t be one of them.

Help Democratize PLG

This book exists because I believe product-led growth is a force for good. It’s how businesses make their products more accessible, affordable, and available to the people who need them.

If you feel the same way, you can help make PLG more prevalent in in two ways.

First, leave a review.

I read every single one. I’m genuinely curious what resonated with you. What was your biggest takeaway? Share your feedback, the good, bad, ugly, all of it. It helps other founders discover the book, and it helps me write better ones. All you have to do is visit the book’s page on Amazon (or wherever you purchased it) and leave a review directly on the page.

Second, share this book with your team.

One of the founders I worked with told me, "Wes, I’ve read all your books. I know this stuff. But my team doesn’t." He was the only person in the company who understood PLG, and it was killing their execution. Once his entire team went through the material together, everything changed. They doubled their free-to-paid conversion rate in less than 90 days.

I’m not promising those same results. But when your whole team understands PLG, you stop being the only person pushing for it. You get less pushback and unlock real alignment. And you build a product-led organization, not just a founder who understands PLG. That’s durable.

Here’s a message you can copy and share with your team right now. Drop it in Slack, or send it as an email. Whatever works. Feel free to edit it and make it your own:

Hey team,

I just finished reading Product-Led Growth by Wes Bush, and I want us to implement it. It breaks down how companies like Slack, Canva, and Calendly grew so fast and what we’d need to do to grow the same way.

But I don’t want to be the only person who understands PLG. That never works. We all need to be on the same page.

The book is a quick read, and it’s free online: productled.com/book/product-led-growth

The book covers what product-led growth actually is, how to know if it’s right for our business, and how to get started implementing it.

I want us to read it before [X date] and discuss it as a team.

Are you in?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
