About This Course

Deciding whether a free trial, freemium, or hybrid model will work best for your business is challenging — especially as choosing the wrong one could potentially dent your business’ performance.

In this course, you’ll learn:

  • The main differences between sales-led and product-led companies
  • How to use a decision framework to discover whether a free trial, freemium, or demo model will perform best for your business
  • What to look out for when deciding if product-led growth is even a good fit for your business
  • Real-world examples from companies like Tettra, Outsystems, HubSpot ….and more

Wes Bush:
So, to really recap the lesson, I really wanted you to accomplish three main outcomes. The first one was really just finding out if now is the right time for your business to be product-led. And I hope by this point, you're a lot more clear on what that is. Maybe there's a couple of red flags. Maybe you're in a blue ocean. Maybe your market strategy is totally differentiated. You're moving up market, and the deals coming in are just getting more complex. You still have to address those and decide, "Hey, is now the right time?" So, if there is a couple of more red flags, validate them, see if that is the right direction for right now. If not, that's fine, but get clarity on that.

Wes Bush:
The other piece is what product-led model will perform best for your business. There's a ton of options we went through. What I hope is you have at least an inclination towards one, and you can always validate this. The questions in the worksheet will help you get closer. There's even a full breakdown that goes through more questions and you can weight them differently based on, a, which is it more of a free trial kind of set up, is it more kind of a freemium model to get closer on that? And if you do have any questions still outstanding around that, don't hesitate to reach out.
