Should you become product-led? I'll start with a quote. "Product-led growth is the only distribution model worth undertaking once the market is mature." Think about it. In a mature market, you're up against fierce competition. Customer acquisition costs are likely rising as more and more competitors all compete for the same customer. Wouldn't you want access to the dominant growth engine in your market, all while being more capital efficient than your competition? Hint, the answer should be, yes. So it's not if, it's actually, when should you become product-led, because as what happens in most markets, most markets eventually become red oceans. Very competitive spaces and markets. So you need to keep that in mind.
Wes Bush:
Eventually, you will need to become product-led, but there's a few instances that I want you to consider that probably doesn't make sense for you to be product-led right now. And I want you to know them because as your guide, I want to make sure this is the right decision for you right now. So how do you know when it's the right time to make the jump to product-led growth? That's a tricky one to answer since a lot of it depends on your market, your audience, your product, your strategy as a business, and I truly believe that any business can become product-led, but there's a few important factors you need to consider before going down this path.
